The programme is geared towards providing trainees with the opportunity of gaining valuable hands-on work experience, dedicated training in financial management and all its disciplines, a broad exposure to a variety of Local Government business operations and management functions. The programme is designed to strengthen the public sectors financial skills base with the intention to retain local government trained chartered accountants

Structure of the ACA Training Programme

The three (3) year professional training programme has been structured in a manner that offers the trainees exposure in key areas with Accounting and External Reporting being the core competency received and specialisation in Financial Management and Management Decision-Making and Control as electives. Trainees will be offered competitive market-related salaries.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Joburg Chartered Accounting Training Programme, candidates must have completed their Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) from a SAICA accredited University.

SA Navy Traineeship Programme ProgrammeThe MSD programme is a two-year voluntary service system. Recruits are required to sign up for a period of two years, during which they will receive military training and further functional training in a specific field, eg Combat Operators, Support services, Submarine operators etc in their first year of service. 2019 Transnet CAT Traineeship Opportunity


Location: Johannesburg

The CAT Programme at Transnet is a three year learner ship programme for candidates who have a Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) / B Compt Hons or equivalent.

The stringent requirements of SAICA demand that trainees receive extensive training in Financial Management, Management Decision-Making, Financial Accounting, Internal Audit & Corporate Governance, Auditing & Assurance and Taxation. This also includes the professional skills like interpersonal & communication skills, intellectual skills, personal skills, and organizational & management skills.

In Transnet, the trainees will be rotated to the head office and several of its business units, e.g. Transnet National Ports Authority, Transnet Pipelines, Transnet Freight Rail, etc.  The rotation will be tailored to meet the needs of the trainee and the respective business unit, with the trainee spending at least one-third of the practical training in one business.

The training programme matches the depth of the SAICA syllabus requirements with a wide business exposure.​​

Mediclinic Training Opportunity Operating Department Assistance

 

Recruiting and retaining high-quality medical professionals is fundamental to Mediclinic Southern Africa’s sustainability.

Mediclinic’s training and development function is registered as a Private Higher Education Institution and offers a three-year Diploma in Operating Department Assistance to teach learners how to prepare the operating theatre and equipment, assist with anaesthetics, post-operative care, surgery and other procedures and acquire the skills needed to care for and maintain equipment.

On completion of the programme, the learner will be able to work in the theatres as an Operating Department Assistant. The learner will however not be eligible to register at any of the existing professional councils. For this intake formal programmes will commence in January 2019.
